On November 19, the Signing Ceremony of CICC Yangtze River Delta Sci-tech Innovation Development Fund took place in Shanghai. Present were leaders of relevant departments in Shanghai including Xie Dong, Director-General of the Shanghai Municipal Financial Regulatory Bureau; Gao Yun, Secretary of the CPC Huangpu District Committee; Chao Kejian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee and Major of Yangpu District; and Lin Yibin, Deputy-Director of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, as well as Liu Xinyi, President of Shanghai International Group (SIG);Kang Ming, President of Shanghai Sci-tech Capital (SSC), attended the ceremony on behalf of the fund contributor.
CICC Yangtze River Delta Sci-tech Innovation Development Fund is made up of the main fund in Shanghai and the parallel and coordinative funds in three provinces and one municipality, with a total scale of no less than 10 billion yuan. Co-sponsored by CICC Capital (CICC) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the main fund comprises Shanghai's large state-owned financial institutions and leading enterprises like Huangpu Investment, SPDB International, SSC, SIPG, Icy Capital and Shanghai Airport Authority, as well as other leading enterprises in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui Province. To date, the Phase 1 capital raising of the main fund has been completed, with a scale of some 6 billion yuan.
The fund will invest in strategic emerging industries, to promote regional transformation and upgrading, give play to the role of Shanghai as an economic hub and a pioneer in the reform and opening-up, lead the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and better serve the overall development of the nation.
